I’m the founder and co-editor of bramble press and bramble, an online poetry lit mag; Book Editor for BleakHouse Publishing; and past president of Winston-Salem Writers.
I frequently collaborate with George T. Wilkerson, who lives on death row, and I edit the creative works of several other prisoners, including Phillip Vance Smith, II and Andrew Ramseur. (Read about my journey to befriending prisoners.)
In the past, I’ve been an English and humanities instructor, writing tutor, tutoring center coordinator, magazine editor, freelance writer, and more. I have an MA in English literature and BA in English. I’m a strong supporter of human rights, prisoners’ rights, criminal justice reform, therapeutic resources for prisoners, and restorative justice.
